First of all: If this blog come to be deleted, another opens with the title "2derochas"

Hello friends, it has been days of hard work and dedication to put on the air again all the files that were deleted from Megaupload and Rapidshare accounts that served as hosts for DEROCHAS.

From now on we will adopt the use of another server to host our files, even offering plenty of lodging options, although not ideal, but at times difficult to ACTA, PIPA SOPA and as such has been the only solution I found. As well as some minor changes were made in this blog to try to escape the persecution of the existing free distribution of files, even before the laws are passed.

Some pages cool as the 35007, Acid King, Alabama Thunderpussy, Asteroid, and Baroness Astroqueen are now working again (I'm uploading everything in alphabetical order). But I need your help to keep the pages up and running, thank you every time an error is reported on the link.

The DEROCHAS always highly values and supports the artists, so that attempts to show the work of many of them here. I am immensely happy distributing disk files that are inaccessible to most people. Showing artists I know and love for other people who will like it too, as I get indications or even own bands to show their work to me that are available here, I really like it.

I count on your support and I hope they understand the difficulty that the blog has been up and keep giving him life, has not been easy days, but I'm not willing to give up so easily. It will take a while for the DEROCHAS return to work as before, but this too shall pass. Meanwhile I'm working.

Antes de tudo: Se este blog chegar a ser deletado, outro será aberto com o título de "2derochas"

Olá amigos, tem sido dias de muito trabalho duro e dedicação para colocar no ar novamente todos os arquivos que foram deletados das contas Megaupload e Mediafire que serviam como hospedeiros para o DEROCHAS.

A partir de agora vamos adotar ao uso de outro servidor para hospedar nossos arquivos, mesmo oferecendo muitas opções de hospedagem, ainda não é o ideal, mas em tempos difíceis de ACTA, PIPA e SOPA como esses, tem sido a única solução que encontrei. Assim como também algumas pequenas mudanças foram feitas aqui no blog para tentar escapar da já existente perseguição à distribuição livre de arquivos, antes mesmo que as leis sejam aprovadas.

Algumas páginas bem legais como as do 35007, Acid King, Alabama Thunderpussy, Asteroid, Astroqueen e Baroness já estão funcionando novamente (estou upando tudo em ordem alfabética). Porém preciso da ajuda de vocês para manter as páginas em funcionamento, agradeço cada vez que for reportado algum erro no link.

O DEROCHAS sempre apoia e valoriza muito os artistas, de tal forma que busca mostrar o trabalho de muitos deles aqui. Fico imensamente feliz distribuindo arquivos de discos que são de difícil acesso da maioria das pessoas. Mostrando artistas que conheço e gosto para outras pessoas que vão gostar também, da mesma forma que recebo indicações ou até mesmo as próprias bandas me mostram seus trabalhos para que sejam disponibilizados aqui, eu realmente gosto muito disso.

Conto com o apoio de vocês e espero que entendam a dificuldade que tem sido levantar o blog e continuar dando vida a ele, não tem sido dias fáceis, mas eu não estou disposto a desistir tão fácil. Ainda vai demorar um pouco para que o DEROCHAS volte a funcionar como antes, mas isso tudo vai passar. Enquanto isso eu vou trabalhando.

It has not been easy days, after all the shit that happened to the Megaupload site due to the issues facing the bills SOPA and PIPA, where like so many lost my files hosted on the site, now it was time for me to Mediafire.

When trying to put more air in a post I came across all my files are hosted on Megaupload, I believe, deleted by site administration. Including personal files. I would love to believe it's just a bug on the site, but ...

I hope to have the support and patience of all who visit DEROCHAS, for these three years of intense dedication to music, this is the hardest time through the blog. About seven hundred files were lost and now I have to dedicate myself more to put them back in the air (study the idea of using other servers), this certainly will not be a very easy and fast, but I believe in better days by here. Não tem sido dias fáceis, após toda essa merda que aconteceu com o site do Megaupload devido às questões voltadas aos projetos de leis SOPA e PIPA, onde assim como muitos perdi os meus arquivos hospedados no site, agora foi a vez do Mediafire para mim.

Ao tentar colocar no ar mais um post me deparei que todos os meus arquivos hospedados no Mediafire foram, creio eu, apagados pela administração do site. Inclusive arquivos pessoais. Eu gostaria muito de acreditar que é apenas um bug do site, mas...

Espero contar com o apoio e paciência de todos que visitam o DEROCHAS, pois nestes três anos de intensa dedicação à música, este é o momento mais difícil que o blog atravessa. Cerca de setecentos arquivos foram perdidos e agora vou ter que me dedicar mais ainda para colocá-los novamente no ar (estudo a ideia de usar outros servidores), isto com certeza não será uma tarefa muito fácil e rápida, mas acredito em dias melhores por aqui. Abraço a todos.

Com uma carreira que até esta data acumulou onze discos (contando com este que será postado), o Fu Manchu anunciou recentemente seu retorno de atividades. Antes disso, o último trabalho da banda foi em 2009 no disco "Signs Of Infinite Power", lançado pelo selo especializado em heavy metal Century Media e produzido por Sergio Chavez, Andre Alekel que produziu o "We Must Obey" de 2007 foi o responsável pela mixagem.

Assim como seu trabalho anterior, o "Signs Of Infinite Power" fica longe de empolgar mesmo mostrando bons momentos como por exemplo o solo de guitarra em "Webfoot Witch Hat". As músicas estão bem arrastadas para a sonoridade que a banda explorou em outros tempos, com um trabalho de guitarra baseado mais na técnica e qualidade sonora do que na pegada rápida do ritmo. A impressão é que o Fu Manchu parecia uma banda cansada naquele momento e resistia a isso.

With a career that to date has amassed eleven albums (counting on this to be posted), the Fu Manchu recently announced his return to activities. Três anos após o lançamento do "Start The Machine" em 2004, o Fu Manchu voltou a lançar um disco de inéditas. Trata-se do "We Must Obey" que traz em seu tracklist três das quatro faixas que formaram o ep "Hung Out To Dry". A exceção foi a cover do Van Halem, que pode ser considerada substituída no disco por outra cover, desta vez o Fu Manchu usou a canção "Moving In Stereo" da banda americana The Cars.

"We Must Obey" foi o primeiro trabalho do Fu Manchu depois que o grupo assinou com a gravadora Century Media em 2006, produzido por Andrew Alekel, o disco está longe de ter a capacidade que fez o Fu Manchu empancar facilmente hits em outras épocas, mas também está bem longe de decepcionar. As guitarras continuam em evidência, porém em músicas um pouco mais experimentais. Independente de tudo isso, o "We Must Obey" levou o Fu Manchu para turnês nos dois anos seguintes do lançamento do disco.

Three years after the launch of "Start The Machine" in 2004, Fu Manchu returned to release a new album. This is the "We Must Obey" which brings in its tracklist three of the four tracks that formed the ep "Hung Out To Dry." The exception was the cover of Van Halem, which may be deemed superseded by another in hard cover, this time around the Fu Manchu used the song "Moving In Stereo" American band The Cars.

Após se arriscar em riffs mais viajados no "California Crossing" e lançar um visceral disco ao vivo em 2003, o Fu Manchou lançou em 2004 pela gravadora DRT Entertainment o "Start The Machine", um disco que leve a banda de volta às suas origens.

Recheados de versos rápidos acompanhando os riffs de guitarra, o trabalho começa bem, com faixas trazendo boas harmonias, porém algumas músicas passam o sentimento que podem ter resultado melhor ao vivo, caso de "Written in Stone" e "Understand". Na atípica "Out To Sea" o Fu Manchu mostra que também sabe fazer música para viajar bem longe sem sair do lugar, psicodélia na medida certa quebrando o ritmo do disco e que faz o ouvinte se sentir pulando de para-quedas direto de grandes alturas.

Para acompanhar o disco deste post, eu recomendo que antes de acionar o download seja verificado também se a cerveja está bem gelada. Pois este é um daqueles discos que vão dar muita vontade de escutar tomando algumas, balançando a cabeça acompanhando a letra e fazendo air guitar de tão bom que é.

"Go For It... Live!" é o primeiro disco ao vivo lançado pelo Fu Manchu e que pela primeira vez apresenta o baterista Scott Reeder (que NÃO é o mesmo que tocou no Kyuss) como membro da banda em um lançamento. O trabalho mostra toda a energia e furia do Fu Manchu no palco em noventa e sete minutos de stoner rock puro e pegado. Sem dúvidas um dos melhores álbuns ao vivo que já escutei e espero que você goste tanto quanto eu, agora é ver se a cerveja está no ponto para acompanhar este play.

Em Outubro de 2001 o Fu Manchu lançou o oitavo disco de sua carreira, contando com a participação especial de Keith Morris (vocalista da lendária banda de punk e hard core Circle Jerks) o "California Crossing" foi também o último disco em que o Brant Bjork participou como membro da banda, após o lançamento do trabalho Bjork saiu para se dedicar mais à sua carreira solo, em seu lugar quem entrou foi o Scott Reeder (não confundir com o baixista que tocou no Kyuss).

A sonoridade do "California Crossing" é bem mais viajdo em relação aos trabalhos anteriores, neste disco o Fu Manchu resolveu pisar um pouco no freio e deixar o carro em média velocidade pela estrada, curtindo cada riff e efeito de fuzz como quem sente o vento na cara enquanto dirige, um exemplo é o clássico "Mongoose" presente por aqui. O máximo que este disco chega do ritmo alucinado de trabalhos anteriores são nas faixas "California Crossing" e "Downtown In Dogtown".

Em 2010 foi lançado uma versão limitada em vinil contendo faixas demo do "Californa Crossing", algumas músicas apresentam uma cara diferente da que saiu no disco, para quem curte o som desses caras vale muito esses registros, inclusive, está inclusa na versão disponível por aqui.

O período que compreende entre o fim dos anos noventa e inicio dos anos dois mil foi um dos mais criativos para a carreira do Fu Manchu. A banda estava em terra firme ao que compreende a sua formação, sem a constante troca de componentes que em outras épocas chegou a ser bem frequente para a banda, talvez isso tenha sido um fator importante para a banda se entrosar e acabar criando um ótimo trabalho lançado no ano de 1999.

O "King Of The Road" começa com uma sequência de músicas muito boa, "Hell On Wheels", "Over The Edge", "Boogie Van" e "King Of The Road" são um cartão de visitas da melhor qualidade, não tem como ficar parado ao escutar essas músicas. No decorrer do trabalho o Fu Manchu continua mostrando todo o seu poderio bélico em fuzz e riffs em faixas como "Weird Beard", "Breathing Fire" e "Freedom Of Choice". As faixas continuam seguindo a temática das músicas do Fu Manchu, carros, corridas, skate e coisas do tipo, muito bom!

Com apenas 08 faixas, o Eatin´n Dust é um disco que somado ao ep de três faixas "Godzilla" resulta no trabalho "Godzilla Eatin´Dust" lançado em 1999 e que teve vários relançamentos desde então, o que pode confundir alguns (da mesma forma como me confundiu) na busca sobre informações a respeito.

No play, as mesmas faixas do ep (Godzilla) Eati´n Dust, com exceção das três faixas do ep "Godzilla", destaque para a primeira versão de "Mongoose", um pouco diferente da que aparece um pouco mais pra frente no "California Crossing".

Acho que o Fu Manchu dispensa apresentações, mas falando sobre este ep, o "(Godzilla's) Eatin' Dust" ele é um lançamento somado de outros dois ep`s que o Fu Manchu lançou anteriormente. Este trabalho teve três faixas produzidas pelo Josh Homme além de uma faixa cover. Um ótimo trabalho, com a garantia de qualidade do Fu Manchu, bom e enérgico do inicio ao final.

Após as saídas de Ruben Romano e Eddie Glass, o Fu Manchu lançou o que dizem ser o disco de mais repercussão em sua carreira. Com as entradas de Brant Bjork (sim, ele mesmo!) e Bob Balch na banda, o grupo não perdeu absolutamente nada em se tratando de capacitação de seus músicos, os que saíram foram muito bem correspondidos pelos que entraram, e o mais importante, o Fu Manchu não perdeu a sua identidade.

O "The Action Is Go" começa gastando todo o seu fôlego desde o ínicio em "Evil Eye", um pouco mais pra frente encontramos a faixa que intitula o disco, "The Action Is Go" é mais uma das típicas músicas do Fu Manchu que te fazem se sentir o mais jovem possível fazendo loucuras por aí, praticando esportes radicais, dirigindo um carro antigo jogando poeira pra cima ou até mesmo bebendo cerveja e fazendo air guitar.

A capa do terceiro disco de carreira do Fu Manchu condiz bem com o clima e atmosfera que a música executada pela banda passa, a sensação é exatamente de estar dirigindo um veículo modelo anos setenta de muita potência ao melhor estilo Maverick, Charger ou Camaro por exemplo. Pisando fundo no acelerador jogando poeira pra cima e com o Fu Manchu sendo trilha sonora essencial de tudo isso.

Inclusive, em suas letras o Fu Manchu fala de assuntos do tipo, assim como arcades, skates, mitologia e ufologia, resumindo, som para quem tem espírito jovem e aventureiro, mas que nas horas vagas lê um pouco sobre fatos sobrenaturais e afins.

"In Search Of" é um trabalho lançado em 1996, marca o fim da era Ruben Romano e Eddie Glass no Fu Manchu, ambos saíram logo após o lançamento do disco e foram substituídos à altura pela lenda Brant Bjork na bateria e pelo Bob Balch na guitarra. Voltando a falar do disco em si, o trabalho traz um pouco mais de psicodélia e space rock nas músicas, como por exemplo em "Neptune´s Convoy" em que eles flutuam no espaço sem gravidade.

"Redline" é uma pancada que termina com um solo de guitarra muito foda! Cyclone Launch e "Strato-Streak" vem em seguida cada uma com um ótimo trabalho de guitarra, riffs e instrumentalismo de se admirar, "The Falcon Has Landed" traz um clima mais arrastado para permitir que seja possível respirar, assim como em seu fim, nele o "In Search Of" traz faixas bem mais experimentais e arrastadas, mostrando um novo lado do Fu Manchu.

Um ano depois de seu debut, os californianos do Fu Manchu voltaram a lançar um disco. Diga-se de passagem que é um disco muito bom, melhor no meu ponto de vista que o trabalho de estréia da banda, o "No One Rides For Free".

"Daredevil" foi lançado em 1995 e conta com quarenta e três minutos de pura energia. Desde seu ínicio o disco mostra a que veio com um trabalho incrível de guitarras que fazem os nervos pulsarem mais rápido, rock n´roll alucinado para ser executado em alto volume e em ritmo acelerado, destaque para as faixas "Tilt", "Travel Agent", "Space Farm" e "Lug".

Depois do lançamento do "Daredevil", o Fu Manchu voltou a ter problemas quanto à sua formação, o baixista Mark Arbishire que havia entrado pouco antes do lançamento do primeiro disco da banda substituindo Greg McCaughey resolveu sair da banda, dando lugar à Brad Davis. Futuramente o Fu Manchu ainda sofreria mais ainda com problemas em sua formação, a sua música pode até ter mudado um pouco com essas substituições em seu line up, mas nunca perdeu a essência.

A raiz do Fu Manchu inicia no fim dos anos 80, quando três de seus primeiros integrantes formavam ao lado do vocalista Ken Pucci o Virulence, banda que postamos anteriormente o seu único disco lançado. Após a saída de Pucci, o Virulence passou a se chamar Fu Manchu por influencia do personagem chinês presente em livros e seriados e lançou o single "Kept Between Trees" que ainda contava com traços das influencias do Virulence.

Depois de um tempo o som do Fu Manchu foi mudando, tomando forma para um lado mais puxado para o hard rock setentista com influencias da grande revolução que a música vinha ganhando nos anos 90, o que resultou no stoner rock que conhecemos muito bem. Porém nesse período o Fu Manchu teve duas baixas em sua formação, o vocalista Glen Chivers e o baixista Greg McCaughey decidem deixar a banda alegando diferenças musicais. para o lugar de Greg entra Mark Arbshire, além disso o guitarrista Scott Votam se junta ao Fu Manchu por um período, este acabou sendo substituído por Eddie Glass após a banda lançar alguns singles.

Scott Hill que até então era apenas guitarrista decidiu assumir também os vocais, finalmente o Fu Manchu estaria então pronto para lançar seu primeiro disco, após um contato com uma grande gravadora, a banda preferiu lançar seu primeiro lançamento completo pelo selo indenpedente Bong Load Records.

"No One Rides For Free" é um disco que começa sem pedir licença, com "Time To Fly" não precisando de riff, ou qualquer outro arranjo além do vocal já enfiar a música na cara do ouvinte, depois disso é só alegria, com "Ojo Rojo" preparando o terreno para "Show and Shine" garantir as primeiras balançadas de cabeça. Finalizando o disco temos "Super Bird", "Shine It On" e "Snakebellies", todas boas faixas, com muita pegada e com a cara que o Fu Manchu desenhou para si.

Virulence - If This Isn't a Dream [1989] (Pre Fu Manchu)

No fim dos anos oitenta, o quarteto composto por Ken Pucci (vocais), Scott Hill (guitarra), Greg McCaughey (baixo) e Ruben Romano (bateria) formavam o que mais tarde originaria o Fu Manchu. A banda se chamava Virulence e teve período de vida entre 1987 e 1990, quando Ken Pucci foi substituído por Glen Chivens no posto de frontman, com Chivens no comando do microfone, eles mudaram de nome e o resto certamente você deve saber...

O Virulence praticava um metal alternativo, algo parecido com Black Flag e até mesmo Melvins. Um som que poderia ser bem puxado e veloz em momentos (ver "Spilling It Out"), mas que também se arrastava como na segunda faixa "Worse Than Misery". No fim das contas o resultado é que o Virulence mostrava traços de que poderia render bons frutos, a resposta não veio de forma imediata, nem com seu disco "If This Insn´t a Dream" lançado em 1989 (talvez seja 1988...) pela Alchemy Records de forma independente.

Enquanto alguns ainda pensam em 2011, o power trio canadense Enchantess não perdeu tempo e já lançou nestes primeiros dias de Janeiro de 2012 um segundo ep. Trata-se do "Volume 2: Her Womb Hear War", nele o Enchantess continua exibindo o seu doom e sludge praticado com competência, fazendo os riffs graves da guitarra entrar sempre em duelo com um vocal agudo e quase hipnótico.

A impressão que tive do "Volume 2: Her Womb Hear War" é de que o som do Enchantress está mais sujo, as músicas estão com um ritmo sombrio mais predominante comparando ao equilíbrio do ep anterior. O que se repete é o trabalho do vocal, que mesmo com músicas de versos mais corridos, acaba se destacando novamente. Inclusive, fico imaginando se ao vivo o responsável pela voz consegue êxito em reproduzir no cru com a mesma capacidade do material gravado, caso consiga atingir ao menos 80% do que ele consegue nas gravações já é digno de parabéns.

O vocal é o que mais se destaca em todo o trabalho, impressiona escutar os níveis que são atingidos em "Heavy Air", o que cria não apenas nessa faixa, mas sim em todo o trabalho do Enchantress uma atmosfera ímpar composta pelo agudo do vocal e o grave da guitarra. Essa diferença de tons entra em conflito em todo o ep, e acaba originando um clima impactante ao trabalho.

Zodiac - Demo [2011]

O Zodiac é uma projeto alemão que nasceu em 2010, quando o baterista Janosch Rathmer se juntou à Nick Van Delft na guitarra para tocar algumas músicas sem compromisso. Após algumas sessões a dupla decidiu que era preciso registrar o trabalho que vinha sendo feito, foi então que convocaram Robert Kahr (baixo e orgãos) e o outro guitarrista Stephan Gall (ambos integrantes do Rocketchief) para compor a formação do Zodíaco.

Alguns dias atrás recebi por e-mail (creio que enviado por um dos integrantes) a demo que foi lançada ano passado pelo Zodíaco. Contendo cinco faixas e intitulada apenas de "Demo", o lançamento é um ótimo aperetivo do que o quarteto pode produzir, misturando o rock setentista e clássico com um pouco do peso dos dias atuais. As faixas "Drown" e "Assembly Line" foram as que mais me chamaram atenção pela qualidade de cada, depois de escutar esse trabalho demo, agora a hora é esperar por um full leght no mínimo promissor.

Felipe Arcazas - Aeolian Processes (EP) [2011]

Mais um trabalho lançado pelo Felipe Arcazas, o processo de produção é o mesmo, todo gravado na casa do cara, o que dá um sabor mais interessante ao trabalho. Tanto que chega a se tornar peculiar da sonoridade e estilo do Arcazas algumas limitações do processo de gravação dele.

Em "Aeolian Processes" a sonoridade está mais viajada, as músicas estão mais longas e largadas, uma mistura de elementos como space rock, drone, desert e ambient. Arcazas ao meu ver foi uma revelação interessante de 2011, tanto pela limitação em produzir um trabalho de qualidade quanto na música em si, dessa forma é esperar por mais lançamentos agradáveis como os que foram feitos em 2011.

O Cañonero é uma banda formada em Maipú, uma das comunas que formam Santiago, capital do Chile. A banda pratica um stoner rock direto e sem enfeites, guitarra com riffs inflamados em alto volume, letras em espanhol ( o que acho bem legal e que automaticamente faz referência ao Los Natas) e muita energia aparentemente influenciada por bandas como Kyuss, Unida, Hermano e o já citado Los Natas, muito bom.

Pelo o que pesquisei a banda já passou por algumas mudanças em sua formação, isso é natural, o que importa é que neste lançamento de 2009, "Camino Alba", a banda exibe muita qualidade com um rock bastante veloz. O single "De Caer" é uma faixa que merece mais destaque assim como as primeiras do trabalho, na parte derradeira do disco o Cañonero exibe faixas que se balançam mais para o punk setentista, muito me lembra os peruanos do La Ira de Dios inclusive. No mais, agradeço à própria banda pelo interesse em mostrar seu trabalho por aqui e que ela tenha uma boa sorte em sua jornada.

The Canonero is a band formed in Maipu, one of the municipalities that form Santiago, Chile. Thalamus - Subterfurge [2011]

Após um bom lançamento debut em 2008, e algumas mudanças em sua formação desde então, o Thalamus voltou a lançar um novo disco em 2011, o trabalho ganhou o nome de "Subterfurge" e chegou inclusive a dar as caras recentemente em nossa lista de top álbuns de 2011.

Aqui o Thalamus se mostra uma banda bem mais disposta a experimentar novas sonoridades ainda não visitadas pela banda, logo na primeira faixa do disco, na sombria "Blues Mary Intro" temos de cara um blues, assim como o próprio nome já sugere, o destaque principal desta faixa é o vocal, que muito lembra ao do lendário lider da banda grunge Screaming Trees, Mark Lenagan. Já que o assunto chegou no grunge, o Thalamus explora um pouco do estilo na faixa seguinte, "Bring Down Mary".

"When Gobblins Cheer" é a terceira faixa, e só então o peso do hard rock setentista chega para o disco, em uma faixa intensa e bruta que contorna um bom ínicio para o "Subterforge". Essa sensação se sacramenta de vez em "Blind" e seu ritmo cheio de groove. Após um bom ínicio agora é hora de vir o lucro, num disco muito bem composto. Assim como em seu primeiro trabalho, o Thalamus consegue fazer o simples da melhor forma, sem enfeitar demais mas se mostrando competente por saber fazer muito bem tudo isso em boas canções.

Thalamus - Beneath A Dying Sun [2008]

Inicialmente formado como um power trio em 2006 após a dissolução de outras duas bandas, os suecos (sim, mais uma banda da Suécia na pauta...) do Thalamus passaram a se destacar em festivais pelo seu país de origem após a entrada do baixista Kjell Sjöström na banda. A chegada do novo integrante fez com que o vocalista Peter Johansson que também tocava baixo, passasse a assumir a segunda guitarra, o que acabou adicionando peso no som do Thalamus e repercurtindo automaticamente em seus shows, isso cabou chamando atenção da gravadora Grooveyard Records para lançar o debut da banda em 2008.

Com influências do hard rock, metal dos anos setenta e uma pegada que se arrisca no stoner rock, o Thalamus batizou seu primeiro disco de "Beneath A Dying Sun", sendo este um trabalho bem centrado para onde a banda queria chegar na época, trazendo o clima do rock setentista para os dias mais atuais adicionando o peso e a pegada mais recente. Com onze faixas espalhadas em cinquenta e cinco minutos, o "Beneath A Dying Sun" é um trabalho bem interessante, onde encontramos o Thalamus se mostrando uma banda bem promissora devido à suas composições, sem se arriscar muito em experimentalismos, mas mostrando que o básico muitas vezes pode soar muito bem.

Opening 2012 (English)

After 2011 a lot of work, the hope is to keep the pace for 2012 here in DEROCHAS. Last year we increased the frequency of daily posts and also keep a frequent activity through Twitter, it also gave us many hits, contacts with really cool bands from multiple locations and many good friendships, I think this is one of the most legal.

For 2012, plans are to continue growing at the same pace, even with the difficulty to reconcile my professional and academic life (which will require a bit of me from now on) with all this, I will redouble my efforts to get to continue my happy to listen to records, review them and play here for you all daily, and of course always seek to improve the blog in my power.

Após um 2011 de muito trabalho, a esperança é de manter o ritmo para 2012 por aqui no DEROCHAS. No ano passado conseguimos aumentar a frequência dos posts diários e também manter uma atividade frequente através do Twitter, isso nos rendeu além de muitos acessos, contatos com bandas muito legais de diversos locais e muitas e boas amizades, acho que isso é uma das coisas mais legais.

Para 2012, os planos são continuar no mesmo ritmo crescente, mesmo com a dificuldade de conciliar a minha vida profissional e acadêmica (que vão exigir um bocado de mim daqui pra frente) com tudo isso, vou buscar redobrar meus esforços para dar continuidade ao meu prazer em escutar discos, resenhá-los e jogar aqui para todos vocês diariamente, além de claro sempre buscar melhorar o blog no que estiver ao meu alcance.

Algumas vezes fui questionado via twitter e até mesmo pessoalmente sobre abrir um espaço do DEROCHAS no Facebook, respondendo a todos agora, eu até já pensei nisso várias vezes, pórém vou precisar de mais tempo ainda, era uma possível meta para o futuro que fica um pouco distante já que como citei anteriormente, serei um pouco mais exigido em outras atividades em minha vida este ano. Para se ter uma idéia, faz tempo que venho planejando criar uma identidade visual para o DEROCHAS e infelizmente não tenho conseguido.

Declarando aberta a temporada de posts em 2012, eu espero que vocês possam se divertir muito por aqui assim como eu. Que você encontre aquele disco, bootleg ou artista que há tempos você procura ou até mesmo que você conheça bandas novas. Para quem tem banda dentro do genero e temática do blog e estiver interessado em mostrar o seu trabalho, as portas estarão sempre abertas para isso. No mais, que venha 2012 e que o stoner rock continue vivo.

And here we come to the last post of 2011. After several and several albums heard, reviewed, indicated and available, it is time to make a brief assessment of what has been this year, without naming names to not belittle some I do not know or that I possibly can I forget those lines. I would like to thank from the deep of my heart any kind of support to all who have somehow contributed to the Derochas still alive regardless of the time, thank you all.

This was a year of hard work and very satisfactory here in Derochas, I established targets to dedicate me a little more to the blog, both in its platform by increasing the frequency and number of daily posts, as well as through Twitter profile Derochas. I think things worked well, considering that the average number of accesses to the blog increased by about 100% compared to the same period last year. I guess you can consider that the targets were hit right?

For next year the proposal is the same, continue to contribute in some way with the music, providing some materials from your favorite artist or band, featuring some new value within the genre intended the blog so you can see the work him, meet new and interesting bands that believe in the same way that the Derochas and most importantly, make friends as good as the Derochas has given me since 2009. E aqui chegamos com os últimos posts de 2011. Depois de vários e vários discos escutados, resenhados, indicados e disponibilizados, é hora de fazer um breve balanço do que foi este ano, sem citar nomes para não desmerecer alguns que eu desconheço ou que eu possivelmente posso esquecer nessas linhas. Eu gostaria de agradecer do fundo do meu coração qualquer tipo de apoio a todos que de alguma forma já contribuíram para que o Derochas continue vivo independente das vezes, obrigado a todos.

Este foi um ano de trabalho árduo e bastante satisfatório aqui no Derochas, estabeleci metas de me dedicar um pouco mais para o blog, tanto em sua plataforma aumentando a frequência e o número de posts diários, como também através do perfil do Derochas no Twitter. Acho que as coisas funcionaram bem, tendo em vista que a média do número de acessos ao blog aumentou em cerca de 100% com relação à essa mesma época no ano passado. Acho que dá para considerar que as metas foram batidas não é mesmo?

Para o ano que vem a proposta é a mesma, continuar contribuindo de alguma forma com a música, disponibilizando alguns materiais do seu artista preferido, ou apresentando alguma nova banda de valor dentro do genêro que se destina o blog para que você possa conhecer o trabalho dele, conhecer novas e interessantes bandas que acreditam no mesmo propósito que o Derochas e o mais importante, fazer amigos tão bons quanto os que o Derochas tem me proporcionado desde 2009. Muito obrigado a todos, um feliz natal atrasado e muito stoner rock, sexo, subversão e vícios para todos nós! abraço!

The Brougt Low - Right On Time [2006]

Com um vocal que muito ajuda para cantar música folk, o vocalista do The Brought Low, Benjamin Smith começa o segundo disco de carreira da banda americana arriscando um voz e violão bem ao estilo Bob Dylan (audácia?), mostrando todo o seu talento até o restante de seus companheiros de banda invadirem o disco para fazer companhia a Smith.

O esquema do The Brought Low é fazer música com um astral positivo, para colocar no rádio de manhã durante um banho matinal rumo ao trabalho ou até mesmo dirigindo. A energia que a música deles passa é capaz de tornar as coisas com um sabor bem mais agradável, eu arrisco até dizer que a música executada por esse trio é capaz de tirar até preguiça.

"Right On Time" é o segundo disco do The Brought Low, não existe diferença entre seu antecessor e seu posterior quanto à proposta musical, mas isso não deixa o disco chato pelo simples fato de ser boas composições em um curto tempo. Basta conferir.

A música produzida pelo trio de Nova York (EUA) The Brought Low passa um pouco longe do stoner, inclusive, eu diria que o som explorado pela banda é uma mistura de alguns elementos da música americana como blues e folk, isso tendo como base de tudo o rock n`roll é claro. É dentro de um leque de influências externas que um pouco de stoner rock acaba aparecendo no som do grupo. Caso você não ache, tudo bem, essa porra de gênero às vezes foda a cabeça de qualquer um... no mais, o som é bom e o disco de estréia que também intitula o nome da banda foi carimbado pela Tee Pee records.

Escutando este primeiro disco do The Brought Low, encontramos de cara o rock n`roll clássico, sem enfeites e como tem que ser, guitarras em bom volume, vocal sem medo e uma das coisas mais importante em uma banda que se preze: solos de guitarra! Em um disco composto por uma atmosfera bem positiva, acaba sendo vital o trabalho do instrumento.

Elvis Deluxe - Favourite State Of Mind [2011]

Em mais uma sessão de garimpo em busca de novidades durante o primeiro semestre deste 2011, acabei por encontrar o novo disco lançado pelos poloneses do Elvis Deluxe. Já fazia um tempo desde que a banda tinha lançado seu ótimo trabalho de estréia "Lazy" e a curiosidade por novas músicas me fez ir em busca do disco no mesmo instante.

Confesso que inicialmente o "Favourite State Of Mind" não foi um disco que me provocou o impacto desejado, pelo o que esperava da banda me veio até um pouco de frustração. O tempo foi passando, escutei algumas outras vezes o disco que está longe de ter alguma ligação com o anterior além de ser a mesma banda amadurecendo, de repente comecei a ver com outros olhos e entender algumas faixas. "Favourite State Of Mind" ne deu a sensação de ser o tipo de disco que para entender é preciso escutar com atenção cada fragmento do disco.

Após um golpe inicial forte na sequência "Let Yourself Free" (antecedida por uma intro), "Out All Night", "Fade Away" e "Thiss Time" o disco dá um tempo para respiro em "Out There" que rapidamente me lembrou o clima da introdução de Time do Pink Floyd. Em uma marcha mais lenta, porém não menos interessante, "Take It Slow" cadencia o disco marcando exatamente o inicio de sua parte final.

"The Apocalypse Blues" dá seguimento a um clima mais arrastado, com direito a jogadas vorazes de guitarras entre os versos cantados de forma bem harmonica, em seu final a banda dá uma acelerada leve e adiciona peso à faixa, deixando ela bem mais rica. Para encerrar uma sequência de quatro faixas para trazer de volta a barulheira das guitarras distorcidas e acabar o disco deixando uma impressão que se você ainda não gostou, vai acabar gostando. Se você já gostou, vai gostar mais ainda.

Antes de lançar o seu primeiro disco em 2007, os poloneses do Elvis Deluxe haviam lançado anos antes uma demo que continha algumas interessantes faixas que acabariam sendo lançadas no "Lazy". Eis aqui a demo, com um destaque para uma faixa bônus que eu mesmo inclui no post. Trata-se de um cover do Elvis Deluxe para "Search and Destroy" do The Stooges.

Este projeto é até essa data o último lançado pela banda que depois anunciou um próximo trabalho chamado "e3" mas que até agora nunca saiu do papel, como sempre, vale o registro.

Após a triste morte de Fred Drake, um dos fundadores do Earthlings que foi vítima fatal de cancer em 2002, a banda formada em Joshua Tree tentou se reerguer com um ep que levará o nome do grupo no seu título. Um trabalho bastante experimental de quatro faixas apenas, mas que serviu para mostrar que a banda tinha pretensões de continuar sua jornada após a significante perda.

After the sad death of Fred Drake, one of the founders of Earthlings who was the victim of fatal cancer in 2002, the band formed in Joshua Tree tried to rebuild with a new EP that will lead the group name in its title. Earthlings¿ - Human Beans [2000]

Segundo e até agora último disco lançado pelo Earthlings¿, "Human Beans" traz o space rock viajante e reflexivo que foi mostrado no seu primeiro disco e que é peculiar da banda, porém neste trabalho algumas novidades que mais tarde se repetem no som do Earthlings¿ surgem, como um uso mais intensificado da aparelhagem eletrônica.

Após a um pouco estranha "Visionary Messenger", "Ground Control" se apresenta como uma parábula, com todas as suas fases e etapas repletas de intensidade, reflexo do detalhe que seus integrantes tanto gostavam de colocar nas músicas. "Piano Falls and Kills" quebra logo o ritmo, levando para um ambiente mais misterioso com todo o seu experimentalismo. Fechando o primeiro bloco do disco temos a perfeita "Lifeboat".

E assim, o Earthlings¿ foi misturando faixas de puro space rock, com alguns experimentos dentro do estilo, sem desviar o foco, particularmente acho o seu primeiro trabalho bem melhor, mas não há como negar a qualidade da banda também em seu segundo disco.

O caminho para o quarteto grego The Dives (mais uma banda com esse nome...) foi bastante longo desde sua formação até o lançamento de seu primeiro disco. A banda se formou em 2000 na capital grega Atenas, desde então chegou a abrir shows de nomes consagrados da cena do rock underground como Mudhoney, Truckfighters e Brant Bjork And The Bros.

Na sua musica o The Dives explora diversos caminhos, que vão desde o grunge barulhento como na faixa que abre o disco "Fresh Blue Cofee", até o rock alternativo atual, passando por coisas como rock garageiro, heavy psych e stoner rock, buscando sempre explorar bem o fuzz na maioria de suas músicas. Creio que por ter passado todo esse tempo projetando um disco completo, muitas das canções devem ser de épocas distintas da banda, o que pode ter resultado em um disco tão rico de elementos diversos.

Após um ínicio mais barulhento, o "The Dive" se encaminha para um universo mais viajado, apresentando grooves cada vez mais trabalhados do que as primeiras faixas. "Desden" e "Fabio, Fabio..." por exemplo, exploram muita intensidade e reflexão em sequência. Essa sequência se soma a outras faixas capazes de levar o disco para um caminho totalmente diferente do inicial.

Após uma viagem por alguns estilos bem interessantes dentro do rock, chegamos em "The Floating" e sua versão estendida de quase trinta e nove minutos, após tudo isso a impressão que fica é muito boa em relação ao quarteto grego, bom trabalho de riffs e fuz, composições de qualidade e uma capacidade de criar uma boa atmosfera para cada música.

The way to the quartet Dives The Greek (another band with that name ...) was quite long from its formation to the release of their first album. The band formed in 2000 in the Greek capital Athens, since even opened shows for established names in the underground rock scene such as Mudhoney, Truckfighters and Brant Bjork And The Bros.

In his music to The Dives explores various ways, ranging from the grunge loud as the band that opens the album "Fresh Cofee Blue" to the current alternative rock, through things like garage stuff rock, heavy psych and stoner rock, always seeking and explore the fuzz in most of his songs. I believe that having spent all this time designing an entire disk, many of the songs to be different eras of the band, which may have resulted in an album so full of diverse elements.

After beginning a louder, "The Dive" is headed for a universe most traveled, with grooves worked more than the first tracks. "Dresden" and "Fabio, Fabio ..." for example, explore a lot of intensity and reflection in sequence. This result adds to other bands able to get the puck to a completely different way of starting.

After a journey through some very interesting styles within the rock, we got "The Floating" and its extended version for almost thirty-nine minutes, after all this, the impression is very good compared to the quartet Greek riffs and good job fuz, compositions of quality and an ability to create a good atmosphere for each song.

Mais uma vez contando com participações especiais, o The Kings Of Frog Island lançou em 2008 o seu segundo disco. Não menos interessante que o anterior, esse trabalho definitivamente firmou a banda e deu a ela uma identidade bem interessante quando à sua sonoridade capaz de alternar e fluir por alguns elementos bem agradáveis.

Após uma introdução em "The Last Train" o disco começa com faixas de muita categoria, "Hallucination" é uma típica canção stoner rock, com um pouco de desert. Em seguida, "Welcome To The Void" traz oito minutos em que o blues e o psicodélico se cruzam, resultando um mix de fases.

Em "Joanne Marie" temos novamente o stoner rock tradicional, lembrando bandas como o Waxy e o Queens Of The Stone Age em seus primeiros trabalhos por exemplo. É legal notar como o The Kings Of The Frog Island consegue chegar no som que propõe fazer explorando até o desert rock. Mesmo sem ser uma banda do cenário de Palm Desert, a banda inglesa consegue explorar bem o estilo sem se perder e ainda ousar misturando com ritmos mais ingleses de fazer rock n`roll.

Again relying on special participations, The Kings Of Frog Island in 2008 released their second album. No less interesting than the last, this work definitely signed the band and gave her an identity and sound interesting when your able to switch and flow for some very enjoyable elements.

After an introduction on "The Last Train" begins the album with tracks from many categories, "Hallucination" is a typical stoner rock song with a bit of desert. Then, "Welcome To The Void" features eight minutes in which blues and psychedelic intersect, resulting in a mix of phases.

In "Joanne Marie" we have again the traditional stoner rock, recalling bands like Waxy and Queens Of The Stone Age in his first work for example. It's nice to see how the Kings Of The Frog The Island manages to get the sound you propose to do to exploring the desert rock. Even without being a band from the scene of Palm Desert, the English band's style and can explore without getting lost and still dare to mixing with English rhythms to rock `n roll.

Antes que vocês pensem que estou com a cabeça em 2012, o disco que é assunto neste post chegou até mim informando que é de 2012, se ele já está no ar desde o dia 7 de Dezembro já é outra coisa completamente diferente...

A banda em questão é o Killimanjaro, formada em Barcelos, Portugal, e que pratica o tradicional rock setentista com stoner rock, repetindo a receita por exemplo, de bandas como Radio Moscow, Graveyard, Witchcraft, Brutus, Siena Root e da que passou recentemente por aqui The Gypsy Bangles. Essa sonoridade me agrada bastante, por misturar a pegada rápida e em momentos insana com uma boa técnica (ver o trabalho de guitarras no ínicio de "Prayer" e no solo em "Empty") nas músicas.

O BOTR (abreviação de "Barcelos On The Rocks", nomeclatura talvez inspirada no NOLA do Down) é um bom trabalho de estréia do Killimanjaro, até a ilustração na capa teve um cuidado especial no acabamento, condizendo com as músicas.

The band in question is the Killimanjaro formed in Barcelos, Portugal, and practicing the traditional seventies rock with stoner rock, repeating the recipe for example, bands like Radio Moscow, Graveyard, Witchcraft, Brutus, Siena Root and which was recently The Gypsy Bangles here. I like that sound a lot, by mixing the footprint and at times insanely fast with a good technique (see the guitar work at the beginning of "Prayer" and the solo on "Empty") in the songs.

The Botros (short for "Barcelos On The Rocks", perhaps inspired the naming of the NOLA Down) is a good job Killimanjaro's debut, to the illustration on the cover had a special care in the finish, matching the music.

Aqui temos cinco faixas de puro drone, totalizando sessenta minutos que podem soar como a continuação do trabalho anterior, lento, arrastado, porém desde a volta da banda em 2005, limpo e com muita classe, com direito a arranjos de instrumentos bem interessantes que resultam bem no tipo de música explorada pelo Earth, como por exemplo, o piano.

Com algumas faixas excelentes como "The Carrion Crow" e "The Bees Made Hooney in the Lion`s Skull" o registro é um dos melhores do Earth ao vivo, concorrendo com o "Live in Europe 2006" que foi lançado em 2007. Talvez o meu lado particular de gostar bem mais dessa nova fase do Earth me faça chegar a tal conclusão, assim fica inevitável optar por trabalhos do tipo.

Aqui temos mais um disco ao vivo lançado pelo Earth. A banda de Seattle parece ter gostado da sua primeira experiência ao vivo ao ponto de ter repetido algumas vez. Em "Live Hex - In a Large City on the North American Continent" a banda comandada por Dylan Carlson chegava ao seu quarto disco ao vivo, mas sem deixar o mínimo sentimento de repetição tocar os admiradores da banda.

A forma com que cada apresentação ao vivo do Earth seja única devido ao ambiente criado pela banda faz com que os registros ao vivo tenha suas peculiaridades e apresente traços que não saturam o ouvinte. O que faz qualquer trabalho não soar como algo repetitivo em relação aos demais produzidos na mesma forma. O som é o mesmo praticamente todas as vezes, a banda também, mas a forma de condução são várias, só conhecendo para saber a que tipo de coisa estou me referindo.

Após um hiato que durou nove anos devido aos problemas de Dylan Carlson com drogas e pendências legias, o Earth lançou o seu quarto álbum de músicas inéditas em 2005. Anteriormente a banda havia lançado o avivo "070796" e um split ep junto com o KK Null.

"Hex: Or Printing In The Infernal Method" é um disco bem conceitual e que apresenta um novo Earth. Com faixas que parecem dar seguimento umas às outras, apresentando guitarras limpas que se opõem à barulheira suja e podre dos trabalhos antigos da banda. Neste disco há também o uso de alguns instrumentos para criar novos arranjos que o Earth até então não havia experimentado, o que acabou enriquecendo bastante o disco e preparando terreno para o trabalho que ao meu ver é o melhor já lançado pelo Earth até agora, me refiro ao clássico "The Bees Made Honey In The Lion`s Skull".

Após sete anos sem lançar nenhum material novo sequer, o Earth resolveu em 2003 gravar mais um disco ao vivo, o segundo de sua carreira. "070796" é o nome do trabalho de apenas quatro faixas e que tem cerca de sessenta e oito minutos de amostra sonora do que é o Earth no palco, mais estranho que em discos gravados em estúdio e com faixas que parecem desafiar os limites de quem escuta.

As faixas do disco são bem extensas, as duas primeiras tem respectivamente pouco mais de vinte e catorze minutos. Mesmo com todo esse tempo pouca coisa se acrescenta em ambas além da impressão de que as músicas são apenas as guitarras soltando riffs aleatórios, como se estivessem sendo afinadas.

Antes de entrar em um período de sono profundo que durou alguns anos, O Earth liderado por Dylan Carlson lançou em 1996 o seu terceiro álbum de estudio e quinto projeto de carreira, o "Pentastar:In The Style Of Demons".

Na primeira faixa "Introduction" temos uma sequência de riffs de guitarra acompanhados por uma bateria, de cara o estilo de som da guitarra lembra um pouco o que era usado pela maioria das bandas grunges da mesma Seattle que pariu o Earth. Essa timbragem nas guitarras aparecem em outras faixas, apesar da sonoridade ser completamente outra.

Em "Tallahassee" temos um pouco de space rock se misturando com o drone, lembrando projetos mais lisérgicos que se assemelham com trabalhos que o The Heads já produziu em outros momentos. Algumas faixas do "Pentastar: In The Style Of Demons" trazem uma sonoridade mais transcedental que se mistura bem ao disco, como em "Charioteer (Templo Song). Voltando para as guitarras, "Peace In Missipi" e seu trabalho de guitarras solando praticamente na faixa toda é simplesmente foda!

"Sunn Amps and Smashed Guitars Live" é o primeiro disco ao vivo do Earth que foi lançado pela Blast First Records em 1995 contendo apenas a longa faixa de pouco mais de trinta minutos "Ripped On Fascist Ideas".

Após o lançamento de seu primeiro ep, o Earth lançou seu primeiro disco dois anos mais tarde, o trabalho se chama "Earth 2: Special Low-Frequency Version" e a única coisa que me faz ver este trabalho diferente do anterior para ser diferenciado como disco completo é o comprimento das faixas que estão bem mais extensas.

Sem abandonar o estilo experimental e sujo, o Earth abordou o mesmo drone doom de antes no disco de apenas três faixas, porém achei o "Earth 2: Special Low-Frequency Version" bem mais obscuro, com uma repetitividade que mistifica o ouvinte, levando este para uma espécie de sonoridade ambiente e misteriosa, capaz de sua repetitividade causar náuseas e danos serios para a mente.

Dylan Carlson talvez seja mais conhecido no mundo da música por ter comprado a arma responsável pela morte de seu grande amigo e lenda do grunge Kurt Cobain, do que pela sua banda formada em 1989 junto com Slim Moon e Greg Babior na mesma cidade de Seattle, Washington (EUA) que alguns anos mais tarde estaria em evidência devido a bandas como o próprio Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden e outras.

Nadando contra a onda musical de Seattle, a banda formada com Carlson ganhou o nome que seria o título original do Black Sabbath, a partir disso fica inevitável saber que a clássica banda influênciou e muito o Earth, mesmo a banda de Seattle caminhando por uma musicalidade bem diferente que a música do Sabbath.

A música do Earth é quase toda instrumental, seu primeiro trabalho o ep "Extra-Capsular Extraction" traz o Earth praticando um drone doom poderoso. Uma vertente do doom metal caracterizada por riffs bastante distorcidos, pesados, repetitivos e minimalistas, porém em faixas bem extensas. É exatamente isso que encontramos neste primeiro trabalho do Earth, três faixas que parecem estar ligadas na mesma atmosfera, apresentando uma sequência da qual o Earth irá trabalhar outras vezes ao longo de sua carreira.

O Interstelar pratica um stoner rock direto, com guitarras distorcidas, vocal no ponto ideal, bateria firme e músicas muito bem estruturadas que variam de sua intensidade e ritmo, transformando músicas simples em boas composições. Eu realmente aprecio bandas que soam dessa forma, de cara me lembrou bandas como Lo-Pan, Sasquatch e Cowboys & Alliens. Todas essas bandas que eu também gosto bastante.

"On Black Waves" é um Ep lançado pelo Interstelar neste 2011, o trabalho aposta todas as suas fichas na pegada firme do stoner tradicional, as cinco faixas que aparecem no trabalho trazem um clima stoner bem agradável, muita energia que dá pra sentir na pele, como no solo da ótima "Luxury Car" e na levada levemente arrastada de "Defined By Opposites (Opposites Daze).

Desde 1998 atuando na cena de doom metal americana, quando Karl Simons após o fim de sua antiga banda resolveu montar um novo projeto, o The Gates Of Slumber é um power trio nascido em Indianapólis, Indiana (EUA) hoje a banda é composta por Karl Simons (vocais e guitarra), Jason McCash (backing vocais e baixo) e J. Clyde Paradis na bateria, porém essa formação demorou bastante para se encontrar, já que diversos músicos participaram do projeto. O The Gates Of Slumber já lançou muitos materiais, dentre os quais outros discos, ep`s, além de participações em coletâneas.

Após vários projetos lançados, a banda chegou neste 2011 com o "The Wretch" debaixo do braço, de cara quando escutei achei o disco normal, até que passei a escutar com um pouco mais de atenção e consequentemente fui encontrando elementos bem interessantes que com o tempo foram me conquistando e mostrando o valor deste disco. "Bastards Room" inicia o disco com um riff arrastado e que faz nascer a música aos poucos, até a entrada bem melancólica do vocal de Simons, uma mistura de Black Sabbath com Electric Wizard.

Após isso, "The Scovrge Ov Drvkenness" começa um ritmo mais acelerado que aparece mais vezes no disco, como em "Coven Of Cain" e se mistura com faixas bem mais arrastadas como "Day Of Farewell" e "Castle Of Devil", todas ótimas canções que exibem o bom doom metal que o The Gates Of Slumber é capaz de produzir, sujo, com boas composições harmonicas, solos de guitarras bem criativos e mudanças de atmosferas que ficam entre faixas mais pegadas e outras arrastadas.

Aqui vamos nós com mais uma daquelas bandas obscuras quanto a sua existência, com tão pouca informação pela internet que chega a colocar dúvidas sobre se de fato a banda é real. Encontrar discos então, foi outro trabalho árduo que só terminou após receber o material pela mesma pessoa que me indicou essa banda.

Me refiro ao The Group Delusion, com o seu "Wild Blood" como o disco em questão, não sei informar de que ano é o disco, mas sei que ele é bom demais, cinco faixas apenas, vinte e cinco minutos de um rock garageiro que se mistura com progressivo, psicodélico e o stoner. Ah, antes de falar um pouco mais sobre as músicas, vou soltar o resto de informação que ainda tenho para garantir algumas linhas de parágrafo, o The Group Delusion foi formado em Örebro, cidade localizada sabe aonde? isso mesmo! lá...naquele país lá onde só nasce banda boa, isso mesmo, a Suécia!

Jonas Kroon nos vocais, Elvis Campbell na guitarra, Per Erickson no orgão e flauta, Andreas Sedin no baixo e Martin Karlsson na bateria compoem a banda, gostaria de saber dizer se este é o único disco deles ou se existe mais do que encontramos no "Wild Blood" por ai, arranjos perfeitos e simétricos que encaixam bem demais nas características dos seus músicos.

EA - Au Ellai [2010]

O solo de guitarra que dá início ao "Au Ellai", terceiro disco do EA, mostra exatamente o tipo de espírito que habita a música da banda, uma técnica virtuosa, de uma beleza que mistifica o ouvinte com o decorrer dos acordes, trazendo consigo o fluído envolvente da atmosfera sombria da música do EA.

Pouca coisa parece ser capaz de mudar no som do EA, o que mudou foi do primeiro para o segundo disco, onde o "II" apresentou mais coesão, assim como agora no "Au Ellai". Talvez tenha sido o fato de que o "Taesse" era um debut e muitas vezes as bandas já tem as músicas que vão ao disco prontas a um certo tempo.

Com um coro bem grave e sombrio, "Aullu Eina" tem um trabalho de guitarra muito bonito de se apreciar, acordes lentos e bastante intensos conduzem a faixa. "Taela Mu" é até uma faixa curta para os padrões do EA, apenas 10 minutos, mas a profundidade da faixa é a mesma das demais produzidas pela banda, parece que existe um abismo entre cada segundo se música, por fim, "Nia Saeli A Taitalae" traz o cortejo fúnebre para os últimos atos, com o mesmo zumbido característico, que fica ecoando na mente enquanto todo o sentimento da música se espalha pelo corpo.

"II" é o segundo disco lançado pelo EA em 2009. Aqui a obscura banda (que como já dissemos antes, pouco se sabe a respeito) continua com o seu funeral doom metal brutal, arrastando até a alma, elevando sua música para níveis cada vez mais sombrios e muito bons de apreciar.

Contendo apenas duas faixas que não receberam nomes e se apresentam no disco como "Untitled", o "II" parece um trabalho mais maduro que o "Taesse", o primeiro disco da banda e que já mostra uma qualidade e maturidade em grande escala, mas fato é que o EA conseguiu neste trabalho apresentar uma consistência mais interessante para as músicas, fazendo com que as duas únicas faixas do disco realmente pareçam fazer parte de um único trabalho, com bastante identidade.

Como o próprio nome sugere, funeral doom metal é o estilo musical ideal para tocar em qualquer cortejo fúnebre. Com uma sonoridade bastante atmosférica e ao mesmo tempo pesada e arrastada, fica difícil não associar a cenas de filmes ou até mesmo da vida real músicas de bandas que exploram o gênero.

Garimpando uma vez pela internet encontrei o EA, uma banda que testa a coragem de qualquer ouvinte devido à sua música extremamente obscura, onde o ambiente entra em clima de velório ao seu som. A banda se mantém em completo anonimato, deixando assim todos os apreciadores do grupo carente de informações, como por exemplo quanto à sua origem, já encontrei informações onde citava o EA como vindo da Rússia e também dos EUA. Uma das peculiaridades da banda é o idioma falado em suas letras, a banda afirma que trabalho em cima de uma língua morta, que foi recriada de acordo com estudos arqueológicos, baseando-se em textos sacrais de civilizações antigas.

O primeiro disco lançado pelo EA foi o "Taesse" de 2006, apenas três faixas, mas que totalizam quase uma hora de muita música arrastada, se despedaçando mesmo. Um disco sombrio ao extremo, onde as músicas vão tocando e você começa a enxergar o nevoeiro pela sua casa junto com a morte e os demais arranjos. Em 2006 o supergrupo liderado por Phill Anselmo assinou com a grande gravadora Warner para a produção do seu terceiro disco, o Pantera, antiga banda do Phill Anselmo tinha encerrado suas atividades em 2003 e algumas coisas conspiravam para que o disco viesse cheio de fúria. Isso gerou muita expectativa, tanto que o disco estreou em 26° na Billboard quando finalmente foi lançado em Setembro de 2007.

Trazendo uma série de riffs nervosos e afiados, esse terceiro disco do Down é mais uma surra aos ouvidos produzida pela banda. Phill Anselmo está insano, leva cada faixa com muita intensidade pelos seus berros. Pouco mais de uma hora de de heavy metal, sludge, stoner metal, southern metal... o que você preferir, tudo isso está enfiado de alguma forma em todas as músicas de um jeito que em momentos fica complicado separar.

Os fãs do Down tiveram que esperar "apenas" sete anos para o supergrupo liderado por Phil Anselmo (aquele mesmo do Pantera...) lançar um novo disco. Desde NOLA de 1995 a banda vinha tentando lançar o disco, porém sem sucesso. Talvez o fato de que seus integrantes compõem outros projetos e bandas que poderiam ser considerados como prioridades de cada, podem ser o fator principal de tal demora para o lançamento de um segundo disco.

"Down II - A Bustle In Your Hedgerow" é um disco que não chegou a ser a unanimidade que foi o NOLA entre seus fãs, tem gente que gostou, tem gente que não, normal. Para quem por algum motivo ainda não escutou esse o segundo disco do Down (até um dia desses eu não tinha escutado...) segue o download lá embaixo, ao menos só assim você vai tirar suas conclusões sobre o disco.

The Quill - Full Circle [2011]

Cinco anos após lançar o "In Triumph", o The Quill retornou aos estúdios para trabalhar no disco "Full Circle" que foi lançado neste 2011. O trabalho marca o retorno em grande estilo dos suecos, uma vez que seu disco anterior ficou um pouco distante da capacidade musical que o The Quill é capaz e já havia mostrado em outras ocasiões. A novidade que talvez tenha dado combustível em larga quantidade para a banda em seus novo disco, foi a entrada do Magnus Arnar para assumir o posto de vocalista após a saída de Magnus Ekwall.

"Full Circle" começa com uma sequência de faixas muito boas, onde a impressão inicial é que o The Quill está bem mais próximo do stoner metal e do stoner rock do que em trabalhos anteriores, eu gostei dessa nova roupagem para as músicas, "Sleeping With Your Enemy", "Full Circle" e "Black Star" definem imediatamente a cara do disco trazendo essa impressão. É o mesmo The Quill, porém bem mais maduro e invertendo o lado para qual seu estilo balançava.

A sequência de boas composições vão se espalhando por todo o disco, fazendo o "Full Circle" se juntar aos melhores trabalhos que o The Quill já produziu, inclusive sendo um disco de destaque lançado em 2011. Seja com músicas pesadas como "White Flag" ou seja com baldas como "No Easy Way Out", a alta qualidade produtiva da banda está elevada a níveis extremos durante todos os cinquenta e três minutos do disco, recomendado demais!

The Quill - In Triumph [2006]

Se existe uma coisa que é compreensível falar mal nos discos do The Quill são suas capas. acho que com exceção do "Hooray! It`s a Badtrip" e do "In Triumph" onde suas capas são até aceitáveis, todos os outros bem que poderiam ter ganho um trabalho mais digno para estampar na capa de seus discos e fazer jus ao som poderoso que o The Quill é capaz de tocar.

Não que isso vá mudar muita coisa no que realmente importa (no caso a música) mas é sempre bom ter uma capa legal para servir de ferramenta auxiliar para atrair as pessoas para escutar o disco e neste quesito a banda sueca tem deixado a desejar um pouco.

No disco em pauta neste post, o trabalho artístico não chega a ser ruim, só é bastante simples, assim como o impacto que ele acabou me causando após conhecer toda a discografia do The Quill, é bom por se tratar do The Quill, mas por conhecer a banda, a sensação que fica é que poderia ter sido melhor, mais impactante como foi os discos anteriores. Mesmo assim, o "In Triumph" rendeu ao grupo sueco uma turnê pela Europa.

Em 2003 o The Quill lançou pela segunda vez um disco pela gravadora alemã SPV Records, para a banda o "Hooray! It's A Deathtrip" de 2003 foi o seu quinto disco completo de estúdio, mais um discaço foda! para mim o melhor disco que o The Quill já lançou.

Com faixas muito bem criadas e ricas em todos os sentidos, o The Quill não poupou esforços em criar um disco poderoso, basta ver o refrão de algumas faixas como "Come What May", visceral ao extremo. O intrumental da banda no "Hooray! It's A Deathtrip" está afiado demais, tudo funcionou perfeitamente para o The Quill.

Após um inicio estraçalhador, com faixas do nível de "Spinning Around", "Nothing Ever Changes", a já citada "Come What May", ficaria difícil manter o nível nas próximas músicas, mas é exatamente isso que o The Quill consegue, "Too Close To The Sun" e "Handfull Of Files" garantem o nível do disco lá em cima até "American Powder" trazer a sensação de que o The Quill conseguiu a façanha de conseguir melhorar o disco.

"Hammerhead" é um tipo de balão de oxigênio, apesar de não chegar a ser uma balada e explodir com menos de dois minutos, essa é daquelas músicas que se aprecia prestando bem atenção nos detalhes, a receita se repeta mais para frente em "Man Posed". "Because I'm God" dá os últimos acordes pesados ao disco, de certa forma o seu título condiz com o disco, é como se o "Hooray! It's A Deathtrip" estivesse de fato, falando na primeira pessoa com quem escuta o disco.

"Ah, puta que o pariu!!!" essa foi minha reação quando escutei pela primeira vez "Voodoo Caravan", faixa que abre e dá nome ao terceiro disco de carreira dos suecos do The Quill. A banda desde seu último disco completo tinha lançado um ep chamado "Evermore", este nome inclusive também dá título a primeira faixa do "Silver Haze", lançado em 1998 pela banda, algumas outras gravações como covers do Iron Maiden e relançamento do seu disco debut (em CD e vinil) por outras gravadoras.

Para o lançamento do "Voodoo Caravan" de 2001 (talvez seja de 2002...) o The Quill assinou com a gravadora SPV records, da Alemanha, no contrato a gravadora ficou responsável ainda por outros dois discos do The Quill.

O início do "Voodoo Caravan" é simplesmente foda, a banda começa quebrando tudo em uma faixa poderosa que junta com "Sell No Soul" são responsáveis por causar um impacto forte para o disco. "Untill Earth Is Bitter Gone" e "(Wade Across) The Mighty River" freiam o ritmo alucinado que o disco vinha trazendo e faz a poeira baixar em mais algumas das baladas do The Quill que funcionam de forma excepcional para fazer o ouvinte respirar.

Depois de duas faixas leves, "Save Me" é aquela típica música que vai direto ao ponto, como um murro na cara bem forte, velocidade e fúria. Quando eu já estava convencido que "Hole In My Head" seria mais uma balada, ela me surpreende explodindo no refrão em uma receita que se repete até o seu fim, nas últimas faixas temos faixas levemente mais suaves, onde o The Quill explora um pouco outras sonoridades, apagando já a luz, "Virgo" dá um último golpe para derrubar quem está escutando o "Voodoo Caravan".

Após um bom lançamento debut no disco que levou o nome da banda, o The Quill ganhou espaço em festivais pela Europa, dentre as viajens da banda, uma turnê pela Alemanha chegou a ser cancelada devido à problemas com a gravadora (sempre elas...), de volta pra casa, o The Quill passou quase um ano inteiro tocando apenas na Suécia, sendo assim passaram a trabalhar no que seria o segundo disco da banda.

Porém antes de irem novamente ao Bern estúdio em Malmö, o The Quill sofreu mudanças em sua formação, Anders Haglund decidiu sair da banda, esta por sua vez optou por não colocar alguém em seu lugar no orgão. Agora como um quarteto, o The Quill trabalhou durante apenas um mês ainda em 1997 no que viram ser o "Silver Haze", disco lançado em 1998.

"Silver Haze" já começa com a ótima "Evermore", tiro curto e preciso com um bom solo de guitarra, seguindo ela um peso meio stoner, meio heavy psych nos seis minutos e pouco mais de "Grand Canyon". "Freedom Mountain" tem um início muito bom, pegado e intenso, "Under A Vow" encerra um terço do disco de forma mais lisérgica, faixa mais arrastada e bem viajante, seguindo ela a balada "Stirring Times Ahead".

"Mercury" é uma faixa que tem uma introdução e levada que muito se assemelha com os trabalhos solo do Brant Bjork, legal ver essa mistura do hard, heavy e stoner. "Who`s Crying" é uma faixa que se balança muito para o lado do stoner, se não fosse o vocal tipicamente hard do Magnus Ekwall, seria completamente stoner.

Encerrando o "Silver Haze" temos "Aeroplane" e "Rockets Collide", a primeira mais uma pancada para balançar a cabeça fazendo cara feia, na segunda, um encerramento suave, mais uma balada para acabar a última cerveja da caixa olhando para o horizonte, uma bela faixa para encerrar o bom disco.

E aqui vamos nós mais uma vez falar sobre alguma banda sueca, impressionante como um país daquele tamanho consegue parir tanta coisa foda! desta vez as atenções do Derochas ficam com o The Quill, que com o seu stoner rock misturado com hard rock e heavy metal já construiu uma carreira bem interessante.

A história do The Quill começa no início dos anos 90, quando Magnus Ekwall (vocais) se reuniu com Christian Carlson (guitarra), George Atlagic (bateria), Anders Haglund (orgão) e Peter Holm (baixo), porém essa formação durou até 1993, quando Peter Holm deu lugar na banda à Roger Nilson, depois disso era hora de compor e preparar seu lançamento debut.

Durante três semanas o The Quill esteve no Berno Estúdio em Malmö preparando seu primeiro disco, um trabalho auto intitulado de doze faixas que logo colocou o The Quill em ascensão, recebendo boas críticas quanto ao seu trabalho, além de aumentar o número de shows da banda. Mais tarde, o The Quill assinou com a Megarock Records, que lançou o disco em toda a Europa ainda em 1995.

Neste post vamos mostrar um pouco do trabalho do The Reptilians, banda oriunda de Idaho (EUA) e que esses dias nos enviou o seu material para que fosse possível uma resenha sobre a música que eles produzem. Formado por Viktor "Bob" Wilt (guitarra e vocais), Steve "Jesus" Mcmichael (bateria e percussão), Joey "The Hulk" Labato (guitarra) e Chet 305 Lanes (baixo), a banda faz um som que mistura o peso do sludge com o experimentalismo da psicodélia e do progressivo, tudo isso com guitarras bem distorcidas.

O "The Mentalist" , disco em questão neste post, foi gravado em menos de oito horas apenas em um estúdio na localidade de Salt Lake City, Utah (EUA) no fim de 2009, porém o disco só foi lançado em 2010. "The Mentalist" é um disco conceitual que fala sobre a exploração e deterioração mental de um fanático religioso diante da perda de sua fé, ou seja uma verdadeira crítica à questões religiosas sob acordes pesados e um vocal berrado que compõem a música que intitula o disco e que se apresenta em formato de um loop com vinte e sete minutos. No fim ainda temos um registro ao vivo do The Reptilians para a faixa "Apocalyptic Sunshine High".

Este é um mix contendo músicas de vários artistas lançado pelo Astroboter recentemente. Não sei que tipo de manifestação artistíca o Astroboter produz, se é música, dj ou outra coisa que eu não soube compreender para informar aqui. O que posso informar agora, neste post é que as músicas contidas em loop no "Delights For Psychic Minds Mix (Part I) são de muito bom gosto e que são capazes de agradar qualquer admirador de música psicodélica.

No total são quinze músicas de diversos artistas gravado em um único mix, em um total de 45 minutos de muita música viajante. Em alguns momentos algumas falas surgem entre e durante as músicas, nunca soube bem o porquê mas sempre achei bem legal esse tipo de coisa, enfim jovens, quando partirem para essa viajem comprem passagem de volta.

This is a mix containing songs from various artists released by Astroboter lately. I do not know what kind of artistic expression Astroboter the produce, whether it is music, dj, or something else I did not know understand to tell here. What I can tell now, this post is that the songs contained in the loop "Delights For Psychic Minds Mix (Part I) are very tasteful and are able to please any fan of psychedelic music.

In total there are fifteen songs from various artists recorded in a single mix in a total of 45 minutes of great music traveler. At times some lines appear between and during songs, and never knew why but I always thought this really cool kind of thing, after all young people, when you leave for that trip to buy a return ticket.

Cosmonauts Day é um quarteto formado na Rússia que pratica um som completamente instrumental. O grupo composto por Krasen (baixo), Nikita (bateria), Dima (guitarra) e Chekan (guitarra) lançou o seu primeiro disco neste ano de 2011 chamado "Paths Of The Restless", o trabalho conta com oito faixas de uma grandiosa mistura de elemntos como por exemplo sludge, post-rock, ambient e shoegaze que resulta em uma atmosfera muito interessante de acordes.

O trabalho do Cosmonauts Day lembra a música explorada pelo Explosions In The Sky, sendo que influênciado também pelo 35007 (discos instrumentais), "Paths Of The Restless" é um disco onde as faixas apresentam fases com transições muito bem elaboradas, onde muitas vezes a música sai de uma atmosfera bem suave e lisérgica para um clima bem mais pesado e rápido em velocidade absurda. É possível perceber isso em faixas mais extensas como a inicial "The Captain", "Cave Of Trees" e "The Great Disease".

Cosmonauts Day is a quartet formed in Russia who practices a sound completely instrumental. The group consists of Krasen (bass), Nikita (drums), Dima (guitar) and Chekan (guitar) released their first album this year called 2011 "Paths Of The Restless," the work features eight tracks of a great mix FINDINGS of eg sludge, post-rock, ambient and shoegaze atmosphere which results in a very interesting chord.

Cosmonauts Day's work recalls the music explored by Explosions In The Sky, and influenced also by 35007 (instrumental discs), "Paths Of The Restless" is an album where the tracks have phase transitions with well developed, which often music comes from a very light atmosphere and a climate for lysergic much heavier and faster speed absurd. You can see this in the most extensive ranges as the original "The Captain", "Cave Of Trees" and "The Great Disease."

Pr.0 Tone - Micro EP [2011]

Mais um material que chega por e-mail e que vale a pena conferir. Desta vez, a banda em questão é o Pr. 0 Tone, banda formada no México e que pratica uma sonoridade bem interessante onde a base de tudo é experimentos eletrônicos bem ousados que recebem a companhia de bateria e riffs que algumas vezes até mostram um peso bem interessante (ver Narvalium).

Não obtive muita informação sobre a história desta banda, nem mesmo o e-mail que eles me enviaram com o seu material continha algo que pudesse ajudar, enfim. O que podemos ressaltar aqui é que esse é um trabalho duplo em formato ep, que podem até se juntar e ser lançado como um disco completo.

A sonoridade do Pr. 0 Tone me lembrou de cara o 35007, a lendária banda holandesa com seu experimentalismo eletrônico fazendo uso de samples em suas músicas, o que o Pr. 0 Tone faz é algo idêntico, completamente instrumental e espacial.

Another material that arrives via e-mail and that is worth checking out. This time, the band in question is 0 Pastor Tone, a band formed in Mexico and one who does sound very interesting, where the base of everything is electronic and daring experiments to get the company of drums and riffs that sometimes even show a weight very interesting (see Narvalium).

Not getting much information about the history of this band, not even the email that they sent me with your material contained something that would help, anyway. What we stress here is that this work is a double-EP format, which can join up and be released as a full disk.

The sound of the Pr 0 Tone guy reminded me of the 35007, the legendary Dutch band with its electronic experimentalism making use of samples in their songs, what Rev. 0 Tone does something similar is completely instrumental and space.

The Gypsy Bangles - Woman & Whiskey EP [2011]

Inspirado na essência do rock dos anos 60 e 70, o The Bangles Gypsy pratica um rock psicodélico muito viajado que se mistura com o blues de uma forma que de cara nos lembra bandas do passado. A banda de Sydney, Austrália nos enviou recentemente o seu primeiro ep chamado "Woman & Whiskey" e que após alguns dias esquecido em minha pasta de downloads, acabou me surpreendendo bastante.

Lançado neste 2011, o ep "Woman & Whiskey" é um ótimo aperitivo do que a banda é capaz, o trabalho de guitarra é muito bom, com riffs suaves e solos bem criativos que levam as músicas do The Gypsy Bangles para um clima bem sensual e dançante.

No geral, o "Woman & Whiskey" é um ep muito bom, faixas de muita qualidade criativa e técnica, apenas quatro faixas que são capazes de despertar um desejo de escutar bem mais. A espera agora é por um lançamento completo destes ótimos australianos.

Inspired by the essence of rock from the 60's and 70's, The Bangles Gypsy practice a well-traveled psychedelic rock that is mixed with the blues in a way that reminds us of guy bands of the past. The band from Sydney, Australia recently submitted their first ep called "Whiskey & Woman" and forgotten after a few days in my Downloads folder, just surprised me.

Launched in 2011, the ep "Whiskey & Woman" is a great taste of what the band is capable, the guitar work is very good, with smooth riffs and solos and creative songs that bring The Gypsy Bangles to a climate and sensuous and dancing.

Overall, the "Whiskey & Woman" is a pretty good ep, tracks of high quality creative and technical, just four tracks that are able to awaken a desire to hear much more. The wait now is for a full launch of these great Australians.

Stonefront - Delivering EP [2011]

Formado em Guadalajara, Jalisco, México, o Stonefront é um power-trio composto por Laga (guitarras), Goofy (baixo) e Caguas (vocal), ao que me parece o baterista que tem participado da banda ainda não é de fato um música oficial do Stonefront.

O grupo tem um som veloz, stoner rock envenenado que se aproxima ao stoner metal. Aqui no "Delivering", lançado em 2011 a banda mostra em quase doze minutos do que é capaz, não é muito tempo, mas o bastante para conhecer um pouco da música deles.

"Delivering" é um trabalho que está pronto desde 2009, mas devido a alguns problemas que o Stonefront teve, só veio ser lançado neste 2011, anteriormente o grupo havia lançado outro ep chamado "Weapon Of Choice" em 2005. Hoje a tiragem de 1.000 cópias deste ep`s se encontra esgotada.
